Memorial Day is when the 1st Tournament is held and officially kicks off the Cornhole season. Pairings are based on the final rankings from the previous season. This tournament is considered a "friendly" as everyone is shaking off the rust from the offseason.
The 4th of July Tournament is the Main Event of the season. Trophies are presented to the winning team. Pairings are based on current rankings.
There are usually two tournaments on Labor Day. The day starts with an open tournament and teams are created based on current rankings. The final tournament of the season, if there is time, is "The Invitational." The top 8 ranked players that are still at the party are paired up (1/8; 2/7; 3/6; 4/5) and invited to participate. This is considered the most competitive of all tournaments and is not for the lighthearted.
